Described as Wales' Downton Abbey, and hidden away from the hustle and bustle of life in the North Wales countryside, lies this magical castle! and it's soon to be a wedding venue! Built in the 1820's, Westbury castle is an insight to how much the original owners of the mansion were worth. The family left the property in the 1920's and it became a nunnery until the 20th century where it once more became a family home.
Already a function venue, from first impressions with it's gothic style building, large garden and views of the North Wales coast to every last detail in it's grand rooms, the old nunnery is sure to wow your friends, family or colleagues.
It has a capacity for 34 guests in it's unique and beautifully furnished bedrooms.
The grade 2, 200 year old listed building is the perfect location for a weekend getaway or a private function venue. I had the pleasure of photographing it's beauty for a local fire & security company who have recently installed their new fire alarm.
It's vast gardens are ideal for a BBQ in the summer with views of the North Wales coast and the North Sea.
It has it's own church, in pristine condition, with the idea to use it as a fabulous banquet hall or the perfect location for a murder mystery party if you dare! I've seen it's dungeons and you can only imagine what took place down there with supposed tunnels linking to Mostyn docks.
A fascinating piece of history that has been furnished to perfection. Perfect, not matter the occasion.
